Cross Sysplex Manager
CSM (Cross Sysplex Manager) controls every data access to remote devices (disk/tape) and executes them synchronously. As a result there is a new way to access data over CPU boundaries.
CSM allows you to run a job on one partition in a Sysplex ,and access the data on another partition in the Sysplex,as if the data existed in your own partition. Naturally this includes remote security checks, which validate if data can be accessed and how.
CSM makes it possible to access Batch and TSO data across Sysplex boundaries, eliminating the need for complicated asynchronous processes via file transfer. This includes the difficult problem of acknowledgment of data.
Features
- Simplification and protection of complex production processes
- Centralised job control by means of a scheduling- system without complicated acknowledgment procedures
- Simple generation of test data out of production data
- Secure distribution of system data sets for maintenance and new releases
- DUMP and RESTORE via DFDSS
- Centralised monitoring of storage space without the tiresome need to log on to several CPUs
